international concern that the human dignity of children be honoured and their rights and wellbeing respected in all research, regardless of context.<\/p><p>The seeds for the ERIC initiative were sown in conversations and meetings within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childwatch.uio.no\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Childwatch International Research Network<\/a> (comprising 50 global child research centres) during 2004-2011.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9b160b2 animated-slow elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9b160b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" University, which included an international survey (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Powell-et-al-2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Powell, Graham, Taylor, Newell &amp; Fitzgerald, 2011<\/a><\/span>), literature reviews (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Powell-et-al-2012.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Powell, Fitzgerald, Taylor and Graham (2012)<\/a><\/span>) and consultations with over 400 researchers across the Global North and South. In addition to the ERIC <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/charter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charter<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/ethical-guidance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guidance<\/a>, this website now houses a growing bank of <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/resources\/case-studies\/\">international case studies<\/a>, an online <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/resources\/glossary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interactive glossary<\/a>, a curated <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/the-eric-library\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">library<\/a> of high quality, peer reviewed literature on ethical research involving children and an <a href=\"https:\/\/childethics.com\/blog\/\">expert blog<\/a>, with contributions from leading international scholars and others engaged in cutting-edge research involving children.
